author Linda Yaffe will show solar cookers anyone can
make from cardboard and aluminum foil for healthy, stress-free
food preparation. A copy of Yaffe’s book,
is included in the course fee.

The Wild Side of Auburn All Ages
Come learn about the local geology, ecology, human and natural
history of Auburn over the past thousands and millions of
years. The Wild Side includes volcanoes, earthquakes, civil strife,
and wild and scenic rivers. Local experts Joe Medeiros, Eric
Peach, and Roger Groghan will give presentations and lead
discussions on the local geology, the local indigenous people,
local plants and ecology of the foothills, and a slide show “tour”
of the American River Canyons. Classes will be Wednesday night
followed by an optional hike at 9am the following Saturday.

The Healthy Side of Auburn 18+
